Port Talbot Food Festival!

We love a good food festival, so what better opportunity than to take the camera into Port Talbot for the food festival that took up most of the town today. It was a family occasion, so it was a lot of fun trying different foods and keeping the kids under control in the busy streets.

Of course, it is May, and I am currently only aloud to use my 85mm F/1.8 lens. So far, I have stuck to this. I had a shoot on Tuesday where I shot a young model (my friends daughter) in the bluebell fields, and I even only used this lens and my Nikon Z6ii for that too!

Here are the images below, all taken with the Nikon Z6ii and Viltrox 85mm F/1.8 lens.

Todays images are something a bit different, as they are straight from camera jpegs, only cropped to 5:4 ratio. No edited at all, zero, nothing! The reason for this? I just liked the way they looked as jpeg images, and can not see me improving on them!

I hope I captured the essence of the day in the images, myself, the wife and the kids enjoyed the few hours we were there.

Until next time, thank you and goodbye for now.

  1. Beautiful series of photos Mark ! It’s really inspiring to see how you committed to using just one lens for a whole month. I noticed all the shots were taken wide open at f/1.8 — have you considered stopping down a bit occasionally? It might help with sharpness in certain situations. That said, your work has a strong sense of mood and consistency. Looking forward to seeing more of your projects! All the best, Marc.

    1. The lens is pin sharp at F/1.8, but I do shoot at different apertures usually, but why have a F/1.8 and shoot at anything else? 🤣🤣🤣 It’s three look I wanted for these.
