As many of you know, I’ve been involved in photography, and online photography for a very long time. Over the years I’ve learned a lot of things about photography groups and communities, the most important thing I have learned is that when things click, photography communities are beautiful things.
Nothing comes close to the feeling of being a part of something special, be it meeting photography friends and colleagues in person, or being a part of an online group where everyone can share ideas and bounce of each other.
The best part about photography groups is that you realise you are not alone, and for the most part, everyone is friendly and you are not the only one who feels a certain way about something. There is always someone who can help us feel better.
Recently I completed working with over 20 people in producing Issue 3 of “Adventures In Photography” magazine, a beautiful, not-for-profit online magazine (available in limited quantities as a printed magazine). It is one of a few ways that I bring photography communities together. I do it because I have seen far too much division in photography. There are too many people who like to disrupt good communities, be it by breaking up groups who meet, or just spreading misinformation and causing anxiety to other photographers.
Myself, Mark G Adams, of Photography By Mark G Adams at OneCameraOneLens.com will always put community first. I will never ask for anything in return, and I will always use my years of experience to help others. It is how I built up Photography Adventures Wales, how I built up numerous Fujifilm and other photography groups. Good, honest advice, with accurate information.
Let me know what photographic communities you are a part of, and let us all celebrate in photography communities being a beautiful thing.
