You all know I love photography, and I had arranged this shoot, hunting deer to photograph, before I had an injury. About a week ago I pulled something in the right arm, meaning things were awkward with it. Over the weekend I made things 10 times worse when I used a sledge hammer and something kind-of snapped in my arm (a ligament). It hurt, and as such it has left me not having any strength in my right arm, plus if I put any pressure on it, it hurts… it hurts bad.
So, without a camera, I decided to make the most of the day, walk miles to hunt down the deer (which could be anywhere in the huge countryside) and take photographs with just my phone. My Google Pixel 11. Anything is better than using nothing, and best of all, I was out and about.
With the Google Pixels zoom range from 13mm-660mm, what could possibly go wrong? All images are edited from the raw files in RapidRaw 1.6.3 and cropped to 5:4 for consistency.
Overall, I am happy with the images. They are more than good enough for social media and small prints up to A4 or so. Although it is not a tool that I would use usually in this situation, because of my bad arm, it just made sense, and now I am home, I can just relax and take some pain killers!
Next week we are going birding, so hopefully my arm will be better for that one.
