This was a very different meet on a chilly autumn day. We were going to follow the cycle path from The Liberty Stadium in Swansea, which follows along the river Tawe, down to Swansea Marina. Hoping for some different images, I took the opportunity to experiment with focus options and photograph in an old favourite film simulation.
The Liberty Stadium (now called the Swansea.com stadium) is situated just outside Swansea City Centre, and hosts games of football and rugby from Wale’s premier football and rugby clubs, Swansea City AFC and The Ospreys. It lays on the river Tawe, and is a close distance from the ancient Hafod Copper Works site, where we started our walk from the opposite side of the river.
I used my trusty Fujifilm X-T3, and a lens I’m really growing to love, my XF18-135mm. This lens has been one I initially really struggled with, but the more I use it, the more I appreciate it. I photographed using Classic Chrome, with highlights set to -2 and no other changes. I forgot how much I loved this built in recipe, it’s gorgeous! The jpegs were resized in Photoscape X Pro and a couple had slight exposure tweaks or crops.
As you can see, the weather changed from very grey and overcast to cloudy skies and sunshine during the walk (all images are in chronological order as usual). I’m quite happy with the diversity of the photos today, and I can’t stress how much I love the way the look. Having a Fujifilm camera just for this look would still make me very happy.
Next week we’re hoping to capture much more autumnal scenes, so stay tuned for that one!

Hi Mark, A one digit Fuji T series camera like the T3, combined with the XF 18-135 and you have a camera kit that will give you a whole year of worry-free photography, in rain, in snow and even if the sun shines sometimes 🙂
I don’t regret switching from Pentax to Fujifilm.
Great pictures, nr 7 and nr 12 are my favorite, but all are great !

Thank you Marc. I’m really starting to enjoy the 18-135mm, it’s a great all rounder for days like that when there’s architecture, wildlife and people.
I’m using the 15-45mm less and less, and although I love that little lens, I question if I’ll need it in the future with the Viltrox 13mm F/1.4 due for release. Only time will tell!

Hi Mark, just a little suggestion if I may – I bought the Fujinon 16mm f2.0 a while ago, and it is great – I know, the angle of view is worlds away from 13mm, but the advantage the fuji lens has is that they is still fairly wide, and so tiny ! Admittedly, she is much less light sensitive, but she can fit in your pocket without any problems – maybe something to think about ?

It’s certainly something to think about, but there’s something so special about Viltrox output. Plus… 13mm 😍 just right for most things, and of course F/1.4 which is amazing. Funny enough, my new blog I’ll be posting later is about this, it’s as if you’ve read my mind! 🤣🤣🤣
