American Car Show

After yesterdays amazing family bluebell shoot (which can be found here), I was not expecting to be going out with the camera today. However, just as we were leaving for a walk, the wife pointed out that there was an American Car Show being held locally, so we took a walk, and took a few photograph!

I know I have photographed car shows before, but this time there were many more different cars there, plus I wanted to try out the Nikon Z6ii along with a preset I have made in Darktable for occasions just like this (where I want to emulate older looking images).

Here then, is the result from todays little shoot. All images edited in Darktable with my new “Retrochrome” profile in the new Colour Equaliser module.

I am very happy with these images, the 24-70mm lens did not let me down again, although it would have been interesting to record this even with the 40mm F/2 prime lens that I love. Maybe next time for that! I also like my “Retrochrome” colour profile preset that I have been working on (there are actually three variations, but I used the first version in these). I will share this preset in a coming blog!

I hope you like this different take on car photography, where it is often about the smaller things, rather than the whole car! Do not forget to like, comment and subscribe!
