You all know I love a good car show, and the one we visited today was a regular event where I live. I have photographed this event many times, so today I thought I would do something very different and photograph it in three new Nikon Colour Profiles (or recipes) that I have been working on and using for my own personal use.
Of course, I have a page dedicated to Nikon Colour Profiles which can be found here, these are all brand new ones which I will add to that page in time!
The images were taken on a Nikon Z6ii with the Z40mm at F/2. All images straight from camera, but resized. Here they are, along with the latest inages from the car show.#
RetroChrome – The first colour profile I want to share is my “retro” inspired colour profile, which I lovingly call “RetroChrome”. It is a general us colour profile, that just gives your images that retro-feel.
Profile Settings: Picture Setting “Toy”, Effect Level 60, Quick Sharpen 0, Sharpening 3, Mid-Range Sharpening 2, Clarity 2.75, Contrast -3, Saturation -1.

RetroMono – A mono profile based on the orange filter, and some extra contrast and sharpening. I think the deeper blacks and extra contrast give the profile a very nice look. Once again, this is a brilliant general purpose colour profile that can be used for many occasions.
Profile Settings: Picture Setting “Monochrome”, Quick Sharpen 0, Sharpening 3, Mid-Range Sharpening 2, Clarity 2.75, Contrast 1.5, Brightness 0.50, Filter Effect “Orange”, Toning “B&W”.

KodaKreme – Another retro-inspired colour profile, with punchier colour, deep shadows and an overall more filmic look. Another great colour profile, for times when you are after a different look to your images.
Profile Settings: Picture Setting “Standard”, Quick Sharpen 0, Sharpening 0, Mid-Range Sharpening 5, Clarity -0.75, Contrast 3, Brightness -1.5, Saturation 3, Hue -2.

And there we have it! If you are fed up of editing raw files, and want to just get nice images straight from camera, or simply store these are presets in NX Studio, then feel free to use them! I hope you enjoyed the pictures and the profiles!

Great shots and the profiles look amazing with the cars. Great model you have there too. Love it

Hello Mark,
It’s great to see that we share many of the same interests, and a good car show is definitely one of them. I have to admit, portrait photography isn’t really my strong suit, but you excel at it, and it clearly shows in your work.
As always, your recipes look fantastic, and I have to say, the “Toy” effect really stands out to me—superb job!
Once I’m done with my vacation and work, and I can start writing and posting photos again, I promise to write something about your new Nikon recipes.
But for now, all the best, Mark, and talk to you soon.
Marc.
