A Quiet Winter Stroll To Mumbles 2025

Things have been rather quiet over the Christmas and New Year period, so it was nice to meet up with a couple of friends today and go for a breakfast, followed by an hour with the camera. There is a lot of work currently taking place in Mumbles, Swansea. They are building new sea-defences, plus they are working on the roads, so I just took a few shots that appealed to me.

I used my Nikon Z6ii with my Viltrox 85mm F/1.8 lens for every shot. Tomorrow I have a “proper” shoot with a model, so I was just getting some use out of this fantastic lens as it seems like I have not used it for a long time! All images are edited from raw in Photoshop Adobe Camera Raw.

Overall a great few hours as I fight off a little cold/bug that the whole family currently have. It was hard work put there, but I just needed to get out and take photographs.

On the 4th image, with the man sitting in the café, I used Photoshops new reflections remove tool, and I am amazed that it removed them perfectly! It will be very handy for when I am taking photos of things behind glass, like a museum. I have now fully embraced Photoshop/ACR, I can’t believe I lived without it for so long!

  1. Hi Mark,

As always, you’ve captured a stunning series of photos! The weather looks like it was cold but beautiful, and the results speak for themselves—such vibrant colors!

The colds going around are tough, aren’t they? It’s the same here—many people are struggling to shake them off. I’ve been dealing with mine for nearly five weeks now. Maybe we’re getting more sensitive, or the bugs are getting stronger 🙂

Looking forward to your next photo series and hoping for sunny, dry weather for you. Take care and see you soon!

    Marc
