Originally my plan was to pop down the beach with my youngest and test out the HEIF format for taking images. I did that, but I need to analyse the files and get the codecs sorted out first before I go into more depth about what the files are and what they can be used for. In the meantime, I have used the 10 images from today as Darktable edits, because I really like them!
Taken on my Nikon along with my Z40mm F/2 lens, the images were just going to be test images, but I like them! Edited in my Darktable “Nikon ZF” style, I think they capture the couple of hours out well.

Other than trying out the HEIF format, I also tried out a new little camera bag that I picked up. It nicely fits my Nikon ZF in it, with room for possibly one more lens and it is nice and compact. I will be doing a review series on recent pickups soon (I went wild on TEMU looking for cheap and cheerful, but useful photography products).
Did you miss my last post? It was exciting! I have a new book out! Take a look!
