If Everybody Had An Ocean – Enjoying The Sun

It has been a really hot week, with a heatwave and non-stop sun and fun. It has also been a week that the children were on half-term, and what better week for them! Of course, living less than 500 steps from the beach we had to go and enjoy the sea. Believe it or not, we do not spend much time there, because you tend to take things for granted when it is just there.

Of note here, I have shorts on. ANYONE who knows me, knows that this is a rarity, and my legs never come out. But, it was so hot (hitting 33 degrees) that my eyeballs were sweating and we just needed to cool off at the seafront.

Some proper fun family photos here, and I have made sure to commit a few of them to Instax film to keep forevermore. I did not have a camera with me, so I just used my Pixel 8a mobile phone to capture some images.

That was a fun, hot day! We ended it by going for a bag of fish and chips, followed by an ice-cream cone… and plenty of drinks of course.

      1. Yes, yes, 🙂 I never imagined myself sitting indoors, @ +18C outside temperature, head-to-toe in a warm clothes, with the heater on. When only a few years ago (well, a bit more then) I remember playing football outside @ -29C and feeling fantastic. :-0

  1. Hey Mark, looks like you had a great time. That sea breeze must have helped as well, one of the advantages of living so close to the coast. Temperatures here are about the same, but inland it feels much hotter and the humidity is through the roof. So count yourself lucky to have that natural cooling. Have a great weekend!

  2. A good solution to a hot day, Mark. 33 is indeed hot for your part of the world and a dip in the ocean is just what was needed. It has been around 30 here too for the last few days and the heat finally broke last night when a thunderstorm rolled through. Happy Saturday. Allan
