Wales Botanical Gardens Shoot (Part 2)

Birds! That’s what is one of the exciting things about Wales Botanical Gardens. However, the weather was not on our side! It was darker than we wanted, and within a few minutes of photographing, the rain came down like never before!

I know the X-T3 paired with the Fuji 50-230mm is a formidable beast when it comes to birds, I’ve used that lens many times on the X-T20 and more recently of course on the X-T3 as mentioned. However, under these conditions, it was a worry that the heavy rain, and misty background would interfere with performance, but thankfully… we have images!

Please click on the images to see them full size, as some of them are cropped for presentation of this page.

I’m not going to lie… I love the 50-230mm, it’s a fantastic and underrated lens for the Fuji system. Due to the weather I initially had some missed shots, but I changed from large zone to full screen zone during the last quarter of the shoot, and that seemed to work better in the bad weather.

All images cropped and exposure corrected in Photoscape X Pro, all EXIF data is in the images.

Hopefully you’ve enjoyed this two part blog from Botanical Gardens! If you have, please like and comment. Thank you.
