It’s been a strange month, what with Christmas and the New Year, plus a break in my group walks. I haven’t picked up my Fujifilm X-T3 in a long while, not since the last meet of 2021. However, I have still been taking photographs, with my Instax cameras and with my new Google Pixel 6 phone (a few images sneaked in to the last post I made).
Of course, this year is all about square, monochrome images for me (well, it is to start with), but that doesn’t mean I won’t be doing colour photography as well. I have started out as I mean to go on. Most of my images in this time have been of the family, but that’s fine, because that’s one thing I do love photographing.
These first images are taken with the Google Pixel 6 and edited in Google Photos. Images were simply cropped square and then added the “Vogue” monochrome filter to them. Of the three monochrome options in Google Photos, this is by far my favourite, and one I will use this year.
One thing I seriously love about the Google Pixel 6 camera processing though is the colour reproduction. The following two images are straight from camera jpegs. And they have a simply stunning quality to the colours and look.
I’m happy with the new phone, and I will also be happy to start going out with the camera again next week where I can start posting new images. I have a lot planned as you are aware, so I am hoping to start off on the right foot!
I’ve also been toying with the idea of a YouTube channel. Again, I have an idea and I may try and test this out in the coming weeks. Time of course is the thing you need for video processing once its all been filmed, and that’s the one thing I don’t always have.
Anyway, I’ll be back the weekend with an exciting new article which I am putting together that I hope you will all enjoy. So until next time…
I am a semi-professional photographer who runs a weekly meeting photography group as well as numerous Facebook groups (Great Photography Walks South Wales and Fujifilm Lovers Worldwide Group). I also have a brand-new blog website dedicated to various other things which I like to call The Ramblings Of A Welshman. I hope you can join me there; you might find it interesting!
