Clyne Valley With A Yashica 5cm Manual Lens!

So today I went on a group meet. Sadly, I didn’t stay the full length as I was feeling a bit rough after an hour or so, but I managed to get some great images. Clyne Valley, in Black Pill, Swansea, is a track that follows an old rail track, and has some great opportunities along the way to photograph. I can imagine it being beautiful in the autumn when the colours change, and today was really hot and harsh sun, so a challenge for anyone.

All images are taken with the Fujifilm X-T3 and a vintage Yashica 5cm F/2 lens. Most images are shot at F/2. I edited in Darktable, which once again I’ve gone back to using more than other programs. There’s just something about this software that I really enjoy.

Anyway, take a look and hopefully they are something different. Fully manual in everyway possible, and having no auto-focus can certainly be a challenge!

I’m back in hospital for the day tomorrow for treatment, so hopefully they will have some success and I can get back to normality! Whatever, I hope that you liked these, as small a selection as it is!

Until next time, bye!

  1. Hey Mark! you’ve made a nice series of photos, and yes, it’s a completely different experience without AF, isn’t it.
We got used to it so quickly that we can hardly live without it now.
Best of luck at the hospital tomorrow Mark, and hopefully you’ll be rid of it this time!
