A Mushroom Hunt At Afan Forest

If you’re looking for a cool place to explore, check out the Afan Forest Park in Port Talbot. It’s a huge forest with loads of trails for walking and biking. You can see some amazing views of the valley and the coast, and learn about the history of the area. It used to be a coal mining valley, but now it’s a green oasis for nature lovers. You can also visit the South Wales Miners’ Museum, or the birthplace of Richard Burton, the famous actor. There’s something for everyone in Afan Forest Park! Today’s adventure seen us looking (and mostly failing) for mushrooms!

We walked 12,000 steps, and hunted high and low for mushrooms. There was hardly a sign, but it was still a great opportunity to take the camera and get some autumnal photographs. Images were taken on the Fujifilm X-T3 with the amazing XF16-80mm, and edited in ON1 Photo Raw 2023.

I’m generally happy with the images, and since I have stopped using Darktable as much as I used to, I am seeing much more life in my images. ON1 2024 is due out soon, and I am looking forward to reviewing it!
