What started off as a horrible, wet morning, turned into rather a nice day for a visit to Swansea Marina, in Swansea, South Wales. I had a plan… Photograph the area in black and white and use the jpegs from the day. I was all set, we went out, took photographs and then decided to put this together to share the images.
Swansea Marina is a lovely part of Swansea, on the seafront of the city, it is host to lovely seafaring craft, houses, extradentary shapes of buildings, the new Swansea Arena and so much more. I looked at my photos from my Nikon Z6ii, did not like the black and white jpegs, so edited the raw files, which I am sharing here! I also used my Panasonic FS10, which I will share a few of the images with below the Nikon set.
All Nikon images edited in Photoshop (ACR) from the raw file.

As you can see, a slighly different look to the images today, and all because of one setting. I used “auto” white balance in Photoshop, and it made the images a little warmer than normal. In fact, the whole look has changed slightly and more filmic than they have been for a long time!
Here are some of my favourite Pansonic FS10 images. This is a 15 year old CCD sensor camera, and the images are straight from camera, no editing, not even a crop or straighten.

Again, more than happy with those images, even if they are straight from camera. The little FS10 takes me back to a time when photography was much more simple, and I really enjoy using it as the point and shoot camera that it is, as well as using the images as they are.
I hope you enjoyed today. Please leave a comment, like and subscribe and share my work.

Hello Mark,
You know I also own a few small cameras. The smallest and oldest in my collection is the olympus TG-320, which also has a CCD sensor – but it’s not as good as yours I think. However, I really enjoy using it, and your photo series reminded me again why – because the output from these small photographic wonders is truly stunning – the output of your Panasonic FS10 certainly is
Well done on the two beautiful series!

Thank you. I just love the small, old cameras. They’re so much fun, and are from a time when photography was so much more innocent than it is now.
