Today we made the most of the school holidays and took the boys to the local Singleton Botanical Gardens and surrounding parks and just had a bit of fun and relaxation! It was a few hours of chilling and capturing memories.
For these images I done something a bit different to the norm. I decided to use my favourite Darktable, however, I did not use any colour alterations like I usually do to tweak the colours. Instead, the colours are straight from the sensor.
I used the Z6ii and the Viltrox 85mm lens… Talking of which, I have decided to do a 30 day project, for the whole of May which will consist of me attempting to take a photo of worth, each and every day. However, that is not the tricky part. After a recent poll with regards to people only using a prime lens, I have decided to do the whole month with the 85mm prime lens only. For both work and play!
Here are todays images.

So, there we go. Todays images, from a wonderful day! The photo of me was taken by my wife, so I have to give her credit for that.
Let me know what you think of these images, and until next time, please like, comment and subscribe!

Hey Mark, great article and brilliant idea! An 85mm suits your full-frame setup perfectly—on my camera, that’d be 170mm, which isn’t really my thing.
To be fair though, Olympus makes a 45mm f/1.8 that’s beloved among Micro Four Thirds users—I had one myself. Had, because honestly, I barely used it. It’s a classic portrait lens, and that’s just not my cup of tea.
But your series is already off to a promising start, so I’m really curious to see where you take this! All the best, Marc.

It’s going to be very difficult using my 85mm for everything, but you know I like to push myself! Thanks Marc, talk soon.
