A little visit today to see some birds at Llanelli Wetlands Centre. A few of us went out and got some images. I decided to take my workhorse Nikon Z6ii with my Tamron Z150-500mm lens and just use the jpegs for this set.
The WWT Llanelli Wetlands Centre, nestled on the south coast of Wales, is a haven for wildlife and a fantastic destination for nature lovers of all ages. This diverse mosaic of lagoons, scrapes, and reedbeds provides vital habitat for a huge array of birds, from elegant avocets and noisy lapwings to a spectacular wintering population of wildfowl. Beyond the feathered residents, visitors can also spot otters, dragonflies, and a variety of plant life. With engaging hides, accessible pathways, and a dedicated visitor centre, it’s a perfect place to connect with nature, learn about conservation, and enjoy the tranquil beauty of the Welsh wetlands.

I know I moan about the 150-500mm lens, but when I use it, I really enjoy it. I also forget just how good the Z6ii is for autofocus., even amongst the trees and leaves, it just hits its target!
I hope you enjoy todays images, all EXIF data is within the images for you to look at.

Hey Mark, looks like an amazing spot with a great variety of birds. My favorite is the one with the flamingos – the pink really pops against that dark background. Clearly a beautiful sunny day, hope you enjoyed it. All the best, Marc.

What a fantastic set of images! The sharpness and detail on these birds are incredible – that Tamron lens and your Z6ii clearly make a great team. It’s amazing how much life and character you’ve captured in each shot. Thanks for sharing, Mark!

Thank you Mike. I’m not really a bird shooter, but enjoy it when I get the chance.
