Five Regular Photographers Websites Worth Checking Out In 2025

As much as I enjoy running this website, along with my everyday work and love for photography I also enjoy getting inspired by others. Sometimes it is because of their great images, sometimes their great editing technique, sometimes their great articles and often a combination of all those things. Today we look at five, regular guys, who’s websites inspire me to do more.

Marc Roovers – Open Source Photography – marcrphoto.wordpress.com

I have known of Marc, and his work for many years. His passion for photography, his work in the LUT communities, his love for capturing wildlife and his amazing, thought provoking articles are a part of my everyday life.

A photographer from Belgium, it is great to see images from that part of the world, it is also great to see a photographer standing up for the Micro Four Thirds communities, for free and open source software such as RawThreapee and generally helping those around him understand that you can achieve great results with how ever much you want to put into your craft.

David Ellinsworth – davidellinsworth.com

Another amazing photographer to keep an eye out for is my good friend David. Quite often, myself and David pop out with the cameras and take photos. Usually portrait images, but now and again landscape images.

David has a unique editing style that suits his work very well, and his images always look great. David has a great blog section on his website, where he writes quite technical pieces, that many will find interesting. You can certainly learn a few things from them.

Scott Fillmer – Scott Fillmer Photography – scottfillmer.com

Scott has a well designed website that is really a joy to visit. His images are always great, and his articles are fun to read. Keeping up with sharing photographers that seem to be from all over the World, Scott is from the USA, so it is always great to see the US angle on photography.

Scott’s curated gallery is a joy to view, and he has some truly incredible images in his vast collection. Definitely a website to spend time exploring.

Sergei Korschmin – Couple Of Words – coupleofwords.blog

I have only discovered Sergei’s work in the last year, but I have been very impressed with what I have seen. Russian born Sergei is truly talented, and one look around his website and you find yourself amazed at some truly unique and inspirational photography.

Just looking at each website before doing this article, I spent far too much time looking around his website! Let us just say, it really is different to what many others do. But that is in a good way, because the images within are really an inspiration.

Allan Gould – Picture This

I’ve been following Allan’s blog for as long as I’ve been on WordPress, and following his adventures has always been fun. It feels like Allan posts daily, and his whole life is an adventure. It is certainly a lot of fun to follow, and you see some great images along the way.

I believe Allan is a Canadian, his website is his journeys now he is on retirement, and it is always packed full of information, great photos and a lesson to all of us… Life life to the fullest.

  1. Thanks for these suggestions and your shout out, Mark. So glad you are reading and that I am reading your posts. As to my nationality, I am Canadian and nearing the end of 11 years retired. Best promotion I ever worked for. 😁Cheers. Allan

  2. Mark, first of all, apologies for my very late reply, but due to the amount of work we still have, I haven’t even gotten around to getting on the internet – today I got up very early to do some catching up – so sorry again – I was deeply touched by what I read here, that truly means a lot. Coming from someone whose work I’ve admired for years, it’s especially meaningful. I’ve always seen Open Source Photography as a small corner of the web where curiosity, sharing, and a bit of rebellious fun matter more than gear or glamour. Photography doesn’t need expensive toys or corporate chains to create something real – it’s about understanding, experimenting, and enjoying the process with what we have. I’m genuinely grateful to be mentioned among such passionate photographers, and what a fine company to be in! Again, thanks Mark for such kind words ! All the best, Marc.

  3. Hi Mark

Thanks for sharing this story about everyday photographers.

As one myself I am always keen to see what others are doing, so I have bookmarked the sites of the photogrpaherts you have mentions – and yours of course – and will drop by regularly to see what is happening with them and you.

    Kind regards

    Rick
