The sky blends into the sea, the image is real, and yet it is not. I played with Luminar Neo masking to create a few fine art looking images. This is one of Penarth Pier, Cardiff, Wales. Taken on the Nikon ZF with Z24-70mm lens at 27mm F/14, 24 seconds and ISO100.
This year I have been experimenting more than ever with my photography, and although a good friend of mine has been doing these fine art style images for a while, it is something I have not really been interested in. So, I just gave it a go, because, why not?

Hey Mark, funny timing. I published my new article today, and only afterwards noticed yours. That said, I did drop a small hint yesterday with the Jaguar on my gallery, quietly working along the same lines as you.
Photography is shifting, whether we like it or not, and as you said, not everyone will be on board. Still, it feels inevitable. In a way, it proves the exact point I was trying to make, you approached it directly in software on Windows, I took a bit of a detour through Linux. Different routes, same destination.
There is one thing I did notice though. I can’t quite put my finger on it, but along the bottom of your image, the stones look fine, yet towards the pier it feels like the frame is subtly split in two. Almost like there’s a faint seam running through it. Nothing dramatic, but just enough to catch the eye, a small reminder that the AI isn’t quite flawless yet.
Have a great day today!

I didn’t blend the sky into the sea as much as some people do, as I just wanted to the the horizon. No AI was used in the image that I took, I was just after an ethereal look.
Thanks Marc.

Well, I genuinely thought it had been applied to the water as well, especially around the pier, something there felt just a bit off to me. Turns out that was my mistake.
I suspect I had AI on the brain a bit too much after writing about it myself, seeing things that weren’t actually there 🙂
