This morning I was out for literally just over an hour, and went specifically to photograph birds. My friend was with me with his Nikon P1100, and I was with my Nikon Z6ii and Tamron Z150-500mm lens. We managed to capture a nice selection of birds too!
All images were edited in RapidRaw as I wanted to get things done nice and quickly, with a powerful editing package. You may notice I am using this editor more and more, and it is because it just gets things done, and the masking is so good! Yes, I could have easily used Luminar Neo which is far superior in most ways, but it is the end result that matters, and RapidRaw delivers.

I think I can say, after using and being around the Nikon P1100 for this length of time, and seeing the results, although I am hugely tempted, I just love the output on my Nikon Z6ii and my Z lenses so much more. There is something about full frame images that are just so much “nicer”. Most of these images were shot at F/8 with a shutter speed of 1/1000. ISO was on auto, and we were in very dark areas most of the time so it hit anywhere between 6,000 and 12,000 and even above a lot of the time, that is something that is just not possible on much smaller sensor cameras, and certainly not the P1100.
My final conclusion (for now) is that I will not be getting a Nikon P1100. There is nothing wrong with the camera, it is just not for me. Anyone who seen my moon images last night (see the homepage as it is currently on there!) can see that even at 500mm, the moon looks stunning, and a huge draw of that camera is also its moon capturing capabilities.
