CalibRaw Review – CalibRaw 1.4 Released With A Solid Update

We see the release of CalibRaw 1.4, packed with useful features, but more importantly, working on what was already there to ensure the best possible experience. CalibRaw has focused on getting things right, along with a handful of great new features.

There has been a slider added to target chromatic aberrations in your images.

  • Better dehaze, blacks, vibrance and highlights.
  • Improved temperature and tint, white balance sync and paste, and X-Trans demosaicing.
  • Keyboard shortcut for clipping, and Space to select in the library.
  • All metadata is kept on export.

Fixes

  • Lens matching and lens correction.
  • DNG and TIFF files, including TIFF thumbnails.
  • HDR merge timeout.

  • Preview quality.

Conclusion

CalibRaw is really concentrating on getting things right, creating a robust raw editing experience. Although still in its early stages, you can see from the YouTube review(s) [Part 1 followed by Part 2 shortly] that CalibRaw just works, and works as it should.

In my testing, there have been no issues, and everything from intensive masking, to managing colour has been fast and accurate.
