10 Frames With The Fujifilm Instax Evo

A week ago, I had the new Fujifilm Instax Evo, and I wrote an initial impressions and review. Since then, I have been exploring and experimenting with the camera. Here are my first 10 frames and some thoughts.

I’m very happy with the printed results, which are almost identical to the images above (and can be found on the initial impressions and on my Instagram account). In use, the camera has really been a joy to use so far. Yes, it does suffer from terrible dynamic range issues (for example if you are shooting into the sun direction, or if there’s a lot of shade), but… THAT IS Instax, and that is what it is all about. Limited technology to bring you moments you can cherish forever.

And my love for Instax film shooting has gone from strength to strength. Combined with my Fujifilm Instax SQ6 square film camera, I see a bright future for this format. It’s far more enjoyable than I find shooting 35mm film, because it’s instant and captures the moment (only you can have more than one attempt now with the Evo!) And of course, the Evo is a printer that prints straight onto film, and as can be seen by the one example, it’s great for that!

The video review

Photography is all about having choices, and now, with my Fujifilm Instax Evo Mini, Fujifilm Instax SQ6 and Fujifilm X-T3 (as well as my Google Pixel 6 and numerous 35mm film cameras), I have something for every possible occasion!

Watch out for next weeks YouTube video, where I will be taking the Evo out on a Great Photography Walks South Wales shoot, and filming the day!

Thank you all for your continued support.
