Greylag Geese

A couple of Greylag Geese fight while the youngsters watch.

Just a moment in time captured, and the raw file edited in RapidRaw 1.5.4. Taken with the Nikon Z6ii and the Tamron Z150-500mm lens.

It has been on my mind a lot lately about selling this Tamron lens and getting the Nikon P1100 camera to replace the 500mm long end with a 24mm-3000mm equivalent in a separate camera body. I have been enjoying playing with the P1100, but the output from a full frame lens and sensor is just so damn nice!

  1. Hey Mark, nice shot, really. The lens or camera? I think you’ll enjoy it for a while, but sooner or later the size of that thing is going to get in the way, unless you treat it as a dedicated bird and wildlife setup. It’s something worth thinking through carefully. All the best, Marc.

    1. Thanks Marc

Yeah, it would be only for birds and wildlife, just as I only use the Tamron which I took this shot with is for that reason.

It is going over in my mind constantly, I will be using the P1100 again tomorrow alongside the main Nikon gear, so I think that might be a day of thinking long and hard.

    1. Thank you. It is a very tempting prospect! Rather than carry my big Z150-500mm around, sell that and get the P1100 as a dedicated wildlife camera.

Stay tuned! I have an outing tomorrow with the P1100 and my usual kit.
