The Squirrel

He was very young and very small, and most impressively he was not afraid! I’m sure I could have held my hand out and he would have jumped onto it!

Taken on the Nikon Z6ii with Tamron Z150-500mm. F/8 1/1000 ISO 3600. Edited in Darktable.

  1. Beautiful photo. It’s interesting how animals can behave so differently depending on the location, some seem calmer and allow you to get quite close, while others are gone at the slightest movement. I notice the same here, even in places not that far apart, one deer might let me approach within a few dozen meters, while another is already gone at 100 meters. Probably down to how used they are to people. Either way, a really lovely image, Mark.

    1. Thank you Marc. This one was so small and young too, very trusting of humans. Yeah, animals are funny things!
Have a good day. They’ve given a couple of very warm days here, so I might try and get out and just have some fun.
