Time For Website Renewal – Or Is It?

It is that time of year again when I receive the email letting me know that it is time to pay for another year or two to keep advert off the site and have my domain and extra storage that comes with that payment.

This time I have been seriously thinking about what to do. Of course I need the domain name without it feeling like a sub-domain or free site as I need it for my work, however, I have been toying with the idea of dropping the onecameraonelens name and going with PhotographyByMarkGAdams or similar.

Also I have to think ahead of what I am posting. I feel that I have posted everything that needs to be posted, over and over again. That leaves us with new photographs, reviews of new things and guides to software. I think a shake-up may be needed.

I will renew for another year, and see how it goes…

  1. Thank you for your blogs.
I am still using the entry level DSLR by Nikon, which I got 12 years ago.

I think it’s time for an upgrade. I’ve made up my mind to go for the Nikon Z6 II.

    1. I’m keeping it at “one camera one lens” for the most part, just adding the “Photography by…” for personal work.

I quickly realised that. Thank you for that feedback, really appreciated.

  2. By the way, the WordPress.com commenting system is awful. I used my main email address and it forced me to log in to their whole ecosystem where it refused to accept my password, and made me start log in all over with username and password.

When it was all done and I was logged in, WordPress told me that comments were closed for this item and to go away. Fortunately I came back. My previous comment was about three times longer and far more interesting.

I specifically just wanted to comment without logging in to WordPress but since they have my primary address I can’t. The Western world is so over-engineered at this point we will tumble and fall like the late Ottomans, who were overwhelmed by the administrative and clerical classes. We will be sunk by the greed of our executive officers and the unnecessary complexity of our tech sector.

    1. As much as i love WordPress, the commenting is a pain I fully agree. I have so many people contacting me via messenger or email because they can’t get it to work!
