Shutter Therapy – Testing The Tamron Z35-100mm Lens At The Beach

I just needed to get out this morning. I have been wanting to give my new Tamron Z35-100mm lens a try, so I got up, took the boys to school and walked straight down the beach. Weather was lovely and sunny, the tide was in (quite a low, high tide today) and I had my earphones on playing Madonna’s new album! What a wonderful way to start the day.

Of course, I had to do a few long exposures too (all EXIF data and more can be found in the full resolution images), plus just try the lens out at different focal lengths and apertures. All images were edited in Darktable 5.6.0.

I used my Nikon Z6ii and for the long exposures I used my PigIron 10-Stop filter.

Damn! The lens is sharp, just as the reviewers before me have said. It has a really nice look to the images and I am super-impressed by its rendering and sharpness. I used my dtStyles “Natural Portraits” on the sea shots, and “Vivid Punch” on the greenery etc.

I think I will like this lens! On Tuesday I am off to do some street photography with it, and I will put it on my Nikon ZF for that one. Let me know what you think!
